Homam or Homa is a sacrifice ritual in Vedic tradition, and it involves offering symbolic things to the Lord Agni and seeking blessings. Various shlokas and mantras are chanted during the Poojaso that all the sins and demerits are eliminated and completed. Other than Hinduism, Homan is also performed in Buddhism and Jainism. Many types of Homams are there, and all have different rituals based upon the scriptures followed.
