Sri Radha Krishna Abhishekam
September 3, 2023 @ 10:30 am - 1:00 pm
Join Us for Sri Radha Krishna Abhishekam!
The utsava deities of Radha and Krishna are anointed with fragrant oils and given a ceremonial bath with auspicious items like milk, honey, yoghurt and fruit juices. They are smeared with turmeric paste and washed with Ganges water. In the end the pujaris shower different varieties of flowers until the deities are practically submerged. In this soft bed of flowers they were cooled by the gentle breeze from peacock fans.
While we all know that the Supreme Lords Radha and Krishna are omnipotent and represent divine energy regardless of our prayers, the abhishek is meant to increase our faith and devotional quality that it is in our best interest to make the utsav murtis as tejomaya as possible.

When your name is recited in the sankalpam, it creates a subtle energetic bond between you and the puja or homam, bringing divine blessings to you and your family.
All sponsors receive blessed and energized prasadam from the event. Blessed prasadam usually includes small packets of kumkum and/or vibhuti as well as special items like a blessed thread, yajna raksha, or other holy items.
